BIOGRAPHY
Tarik Aouam is professor of operations management at Ghent University, Belgium. He is also an affiliate professor at ABS. He held several academic and administrative positions at dierent universities in the MENA region. He has also worked in the airline and semiconductor industries.
Tarik’s research interests include operations management in general, the optimization of operations and supply chain in particular. He has been studying models and algorithms for optimizing and coordinating procurement, production, inventory, and distribution decisions within and across rms.
Tarik holds a PhD in industrial engineering / operations research from Purdue University (USA) and a Master’s degree in industrial engineering from Kansas State University (USA).

Tarik has taught operations management, supply chain management, project management, risk and decision analysis in management science and operations research courses within business and engineering programs.
He has led projects related to production management, inventory management, and personnel scheduling at large corporations.
