The Center of Financial Excellence at UM6P established within the Africa Business School (ABS) is dedicated to the fields of finance, banking, and insurance.
Our center aims to support the development of the financial sector in alignment with national challenges, particularly within the framework of the New Development Model and the aspiration to establish Moroccan financial leadership regionally.
Our mission :
We closely collaborate with ABS Advisory to enhance education and research, providing expertise and consultancy services in finance, banking, and insurance, with a strong focus on R&D and innovation.
Mohamed Amrani has been member of the Executive Committee and member of the Business Committee of BMCI (BNP Paribas Group in Morocco). Currently he serves as CEO of BMCI Asset Management, having previously held the position of CEO of BMCI Bourse (the stockbroker group in Morocco). In parallel, he has been member of the Board of Directors of Casablanca Stock Exchange from 1995 to 2016 and its Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors from 2001 to 2003. In 2018, Mohamed Amrani organized the 5th African Actuarial Congress in Morocco under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
In 2019, he was appointed by the Minister of Finance of the Kingdom of Morocco, as independent member of the Actuarial Steering Committee of the Board of Directors of the Moroccan Pension Fund. He has served as President of the Moroccan Association of Actuaries (AMA) since 2015 and is currently Chair of the Advice and Assistance Committee of International Actuarial Association (IAA) whose scope covers Latin America, Africa, Asia, Eurasia and Middle East. Also, he has been representative in the international meetings where AMA is accredited (International Monetary Fund, World Bank): Washington D.C (2022, 2019, 2018 & 2017). Mohamed Amrani holds a PhD (French Doctorate) in Applied Mathematics from University of Lorraine, France
holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics and a DEA in Microeconomics and Economic Calculation (1996 and 1998, respectively). He is currently a Lead Expert overseeing quantitative analysis issues within the ‘Market and Counterparty Risk Modelling’ division at the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) department of NATIXIS Bank.
Additionally, he is a member of the CARNOT-PASTEUR Doctoral School at the University of Burgundy, a Senior Lecturer in Finance at Paris-Dauphine University, and an Associate Professor of Applied Mathematics and Finance at Mohamed VI Polytechnic University in Benguerir, Morocco.
